For personal injury cases, we are paid from the settlement or judgement. For other types of cases, we generally work on a fixed fee. Payments are figured out early on, and we accept cash, checks, Venmo, and PayPal.

Do you really need a dentist? Or a plumber? A study by the Insurance Research Council indicates, that an injured person with an attorney receives over three times more money than an injured person without one. The system for getting your bills paid after a car accident is much more complex than it should be. Anytime you are dealing with the government whether it is bankruptcy or immigration, or any other area, you are dealing with a system that is hypertechnical and in which you can lose your case over something that appears small or inconsequential; or for your failure to prove or document something that you believe is obvious or unimportant. 

The IRS promises that they will get 90% of all refunds out within 30 days. Our experience has been that most people get their refunds much quicker than that. Typically, people get it in about a week and a half. However, every so often, someone is part of that 10%. Refunds are slower when people paper file and every so often, there is a legitimate problem such as concern over identity theft. 

The best thing to do is ask. In most cases, I can tell you pretty quickly. The main issues involve the amount of debt you have, the nature of the debt, (credit cards, easy. Student loans, hard), your assets, and whether or not you have a high income. 

The basic issue is do you have an injury? and was that injury caused by the negligence, or other unprotected activity by the third party?
