Worst Auto Insurance Company In Massachusetts

I have believed for years that Allstate/Encompass is the worst auto insurance co. in MA in terms of how it treats its own customers. Recently, Allstate did something I have never seen done before. It refused to pay its own insured’s prescription co-pays, because I did not have a statement from the health insurance explaining why these charges were unpaid. Two of the prescriptions cost $10, my client’s generic co-pay. Two were for $6.95. The last two were not even billed to the health insurance because it was for less than the co-pay. Health Insurers do not issue an explanation of benefits for prescriptions, because the transaction is done on the spot in the pharmacy. As a result, I will have to fight with Allstate over $33.90, and my client will have to wait to be reimbursed. I know that they are assuming that I will not bother (wrong). I suspect that they are hoping to interfere with the health care of their own insureds. Allstate/Encompass still tops my list of worst auto insurance companies in MA. I think that no one should insure with them. I believe that the second worst is still Arbella by the way. They are trying hard to get in the first spot, but it is hard to keep up with a company that seems to devote its entire research effort to cheating its own customers.
